Cold-Busting Smoothie

Vegan, Gluten Free, Soy Free
Serves 1
Prep time: 5-10 minutes

Cost: $2.50*

8 oz water
1 frozen banana
1 lemon, juiced
1/2 inch piece of ginger root
Handful of organic baby spinach or kale.  I prefer baby spinach because it adds a milder flavor
1-2 tbsp maple syrup, depending on your sweetness preference
Handful of ice
Optional: flax seed, chia seed, wheatgrass

Blend all ingredients in a high power blender until smooth.  Add more water depending on thickness preference.  Drink up!
