So my daughter turned 18 months old last weekend, and I'm told that now the real fun begins. I'm not sure what that quite means...she will begin to say more words, understand more games, be even cuter than she already is? Orrrrr maybe it means she will begin to become more defiant, temper tantrums, picky eating? I'm thinking its all of the above!
Needless to say, I spent the weekend reflecting on the last several months of my life, from my pregnancy, to life with a newborn, a baby, and now an emerging toddler. Maybe it was my daughter's 18-month milestone or the fact that a couple of my friends are getting ready to give birth in the next few weeks, but something was telling me to make a sweet and salty cookie. I didn't crave much during my pregnancy, but I did crave sweet and salty foods within minutes of each other. Vegan corn dogs, wait no, apple pie, wait no, vegetable lo mein, wait no... you get the point! I think if I had access to cookies like these that "killed two birds with one stone" (no real birds will be killed, fyi!), I would have been one happy camper.
So behold my recipe for big fat chocolate chip pretzel cookies, also be known as the hormonal pregnant lady cookies, because, why not?! I made a full batch and had to immediately put them in the freezer to prevent myself from eating all of them!
